When newlyweds Amanda Murphy and her husband bought a 1950s ranch house from the original owners, they had more than the usual repainting to do before they could move in.

“When I say we renovated everything, we renovated EVERYTHING. We did new electric, plumbing, HVAC, drywall, insulation, windows. Plus, I re-laid out the house, too,” says Amanda.

The house also had its original exterior.

“It was wood, so ripping it off was like tearing off paper. You do all this work on the inside of the house. You don’t want that to be ruined because you’re not investing in the outside. House siding is such an important part of the house.”

Amanda had already done her research and decided on Tando products.

“I’ve been learning so much about these products, and I didn’t want to use anything else. I know I can trust these products. Why would I want anything else?”

“We absolutely love it. It gave us a cottagecore feel to it since we added the rocks in the front of the house. The gray mixes it up a little bit. It fits really well with our colors.”

And she knows it’ll stay that way.

“One really nice thing about Tando siding is we’re never going to have to paint it. The color is never going to fade in the sun. I can tell you right now—parts of our house are hit so hard with sunlight I’m seeing some of my doorknobs changing color, and the siding is not. The AZEK trim is not. It’s incredible.”

As a new homeowner, Amanda and her husband also appreciate that cleaning their siding isn’t part of their weekend warrior list.

“It looks brand new like we just got it yesterday. We have not had to power wash it. You cannot tell that it’s dirty because of that beautiful texture on it. It’s one less thing we have to worry about.”

Working with friends and family, Amanda and her husband installed the siding themselves.
