But, did you know that we service customers from all across the country, and not just in the New England area? In fact, we’ve shipped products all the way from our warehouse in South Windsor, Connecticut to states such as Washington and California!
You don’t have to let distance get in the way of great deals! While there are some limitations and regulations when it comes to shipment, we’ll make the necessary accommodations whenever possible. We understand that planning a project takes time and energy, so we want to ensure your products arrive quickly and safely.
Since Warehouse ’71 inventory is always in-stock and stored in our warehouse, orders placed before 4:00pm Monday through Friday will be ready to ship in as little as one to two business days. Or, save now and build later—if you don’t plan on starting your project right away, you can schedule delivery of your materials up to six weeks in the future!
For Commercial Resale and Nonprofits
If you are purchasing material for a business with the intention to resell, we can approve resale certificates to help you avoid double taxation. If you represent a nonprofit charitable organization, we honor tax exemptions with the presentation of a 501(C)(3) form. **Please note that a resale certificate is different than a seller’s permit. Simply holding a seller’s permit means that you are registered to collect sales tax from customers, while a resale certificate provides sales tax exemption from items bought for reselling.**

We are currently only able to ship to the following states via third party carriers:

Customers outside of our geographic sales area must arrange their own shipping or have their items picked up at Warehouse ’71, where Connecticut sales tax will apply.
Shipping Policies
Below, we list all our shipping policies for parcel, large order, and in-store pickup.
Parcel Shipping
- Small, parcel sized items are shipped via FedEx for delivery.
- Orders are typically delivered within 2 to 5 days of shipping from our warehouse.
- Items such as fasteners, post caps and skirts, and other small items under 8 feet or 96 inches can be shipped parcel.
- Shipping costs are calculated at check out.
- Please note that large items including decking, siding, trim and some railing items cannot be shipped parcel due to their extreme weight and length. We do not cut boards to ship parcel.
Large Order Shipping (LTL Carriers)
- Large Items including decking, siding, railing, trim, and more, are shipped by our LTL carrier partners.
- Orders are typically delivered within 2 to 10 days of shipping from our warehouse, depending on the shipping distance.
- Shipping costs are calculated at check out.
How to Prepare for Receiving Your LTL Carrier Order
1. Prepare a space for your material
All deliveries will be curbside delivery. Ensure that you have a location cleared and prepared to unload your material near the threshold of your residence.
*Curbside Delivery: The truck will remain on the street and will not pull up the driveway. You will be responsible for hand unloading, with minor driver assistance. Drivers will not assist with unloading material inside the home, behind the house, in the side yard, or up or down stairs.
2. Be present for your delivery
You will need to be present for your delivery. This is very important to ensure your delivery goes smoothly!
We recommend having additional people on-site to help you unload your materials.
3. Hand unload your order
The driver will move the material to the edge of the truck, but you will be responsible for hand unloading your order, with some driver assistance.
You will have a 30-minute delivery window to unload the order.
These items are large, long, and heavy! Please plan ahead if you have concerns about hand unloading yourself.
4. Inspect material before signing receiving paperwork
Hand unloading your order is a good opportunity to inspect all material for any damage caused by transit.
Validate the condition and accuracy of your order before signing any paperwork.
If you order is damaged or missing components, sign the Bill of Lading as “Damaged.”
Contact us immediately at customerservice@warehouse71diy.com or 860-528-0495. Please send us pictures and details about the problem so we can work with the carrier to make it right! We have a limited window to file a claim with the carrier, so it is essential to get us the photos and details as soon as possible.
5. Keep all pets indoors and secure
Before the driver arrives, please keep your pets indoor and secure to ensure everyone stays safe.
Picking Up Your Order
If you live nearby our South Windsor, Connecticut location, you can also schedule a pick-up appointment online at check out. We are open for pick-ups Monday through Friday from 9 am to 12 pm and 1 pm to 4:30 pm. Please keep in mind that orders placed after 4:30pm will not be available until 1:00pm the following business day.
Pickup Vehicle Requirements
1) Your safety and the safety of our associates is our top priority. Most of our products cannot be transported by car, SUV or pick-up truck. For items listed below, one of the vehicles listed is required to pick-up your order. If you arrive without the required vehicle, we will hold your order until you can arrange the right vehicle.
2) You are responsible for bringing heavy duty straps and tie-downs to secure the load.
3) Validate the weight and length capacity of your vehicle to ensure it can handle the weight of your order. Order weights can be found on your order confirmation.

Packed on Pallet (Best for large orders of decking, siding and trim > 25 boards)
Orders will be packaged on a pallet when you arrive. Depending on your vehicle, we will slide the pallet into the box truck or trailer using a forklift for fast and easy loading. (Pallets returned within 10 business days of pick-up, in good working condition, will be fully refunded.)
Self-Load (Best for small orders of railing, deck boards (< 25 boards), lumber, and boxed good)
Self-loading orders require handloading the material into your vehicle, with some assistance from Warehouse ’71 staff. When you arrive, we will bring your order to your vehicle. For large orders, think about bringing a helper for a second set of hands.
