“I still remember the first time I went into that house. The first light switch I turned on shocked me. I was like ‘My husband wants to buy THIS house? I don’t know if I can do this.’”
When newlyweds Amanda Murphy and her husband bought a 1950s ranch house from the original owners, they had more than the usual repainting to do before they could move in.
“When I say we renovated everything, we renovated EVERYTHING. We did new electric, plumbing, HVAC, drywall, insulation, windows. Plus, I re-laid out the house, too,” says Amanda.
The house also had its original exterior.
“It was wood, so ripping it off was like tearing off paper. You do all this work on the inside of the house. You don’t want that to be ruined because you’re not investing in the outside. House siding is such an important part of the house.”

Amanda had already done her research and decided on Tando products.
“I’ve been learning so much about these products, and I didn’t want to use anything else. I know I can trust these products. Why would I want anything else?”

“One really nice thing about Tando siding is we’re never going to have to paint it. The color is never going to fade in the sun. As a new homeowner, Amanda and her husband also appreciate that cleaning their siding isn’t part of their weekend warrior list.
“It looks brand new like we just got it yesterday. We have not had to power wash it. You cannot tell that it’s dirty because of that beautiful texture on it. It’s one less thing we have to worry about.”
Working with friends and family, Amanda and her husband installed the siding themselves.
“Once you get a system down, it’s super smooth sailing. I’d be happy to install siding on someone else’s house. It was so easy. I’d rather do that than ever paint another ceiling!”

Not only did their new siding add value to their home when they got it reappraised, but it also got the admiration and approval of the neighborhood.
“Our house stands out on the street. To install something that makes other people proud, too; it’s such a compliment. It’s so rewarding to hear.
“You have this vision for yourself and this house you’re trying to create, but when people come to you and are like “Wow, great job on that.” It’s so rewarding.”
