When undertaking a deck project, fasteners are typically overlooked in the budget. However, quality fasteners can cost as much as 20-30% of the deck material itself! Let’s look at some low-cost fastener systems that can be used with Edge Prime and other decking options:
Clip fasteners are used with grooved decking to offer a concealed, hidden fastener look. CONCEALoc by TimberTech is a metal clip system, which can be very expensive. If you are using TimberTech Edge decking, opt for EDGELoc. This system uses plastic clips, which are less expensive. EDGELoc fasteners are 33% cheaper than the CONCEALoc fasteners at Warehouse ’71.
To save even more on fasteners, try using TOPLoc. These are similar to traditional deck screws, but have color matched heads.
